Muncie Question
I removed the side cover from the m-21 this evening for a quick inspection. I notice the input shaft seams loose. There is movement where the input shaft meets the main shaft. I also notice a ticking noise in that location. Sounds like needle bearings falling, but I dont' know if there are any needle bearings where the input shaft meets the main shaft. The brass syncros move on the main shaft as well. All the gears look really good and there is very little end plan and back lash. However, there is some wear on the case next to the input shaft. What do you guys think the fix is? I've rebuild rear ends and engines, but I've never taken a trany apart. The transmission sounded and shifted fine before I took it out.

The clicking sound could be the input bearing cage has come apart and the balls are hitting each other as you rotate the input shaft... Crash
