      Positioning of intank pump

Every one of the intank pumps I have seen is mounted vertically, yet external pumps are many times mounted horizontally. I was just looking at some replacement senders for a 2nd gen and thought it would be very easy to mount a pump on the end of the pickup tube in the vertical position and build a baffle around it.

Anyone know of any issues with flow or suction from a vertically mounted pump? How about mounting it at a 45 degree angle? Seems like an easy work around for the shallow camaro fuel tank.

      Brent,
I was thinking along the same lines as you on angling the pump. I don't think it would hurt. I am still a bit away from that part of my conversion, so if you do it, keep me informed.

As long as the suction side is below the level of the fuel, you should be ok.

Usually the horizontal mount is due the the fact that it's easy to mount on or in a frame rail.
