T-5 grinding problems
I have a borg&warner T-5 1980's was rebuilt in 2000's. I am starting to notice when shifting into 3rd or 4th gear it grinds. If I shift slow enough it won't grind. If I down shift into 3 rd or 4 th it grinds no matter how slow I go. Are the 3rd and 4th syncro's going out? or what. About how much should it cost to fix?

Your syncros are worn, the longer you drive it the more expensive the rebuild cost will be. If you just had to replace the bearings and syncros only you would be looking at around $350.00. The most a T5 should cost you to rebuild would be around $795.00, that is what remans are going for at my shop. [email protected]
