      Firebird dash question...

      Is there anyone out there that makes a dash like Covan's carbon fiber one for a '69 Firebird?

      I couldn't find anything for Firebirds, so I layed up my own carbon fiber dash insert piece. Keep in mind this is my first attempt, so be gentle with the negative comments. ;)

      I went from this:

      to this;

      Okay, it's not totally finished, but hopefully you get the idea. Some future plans include a fiberglass console with gauge pods, and cup holders & a carbon fiber top inlay to match. I will also make the autometer gauge housing (speedo & tach) from carbon fiber to pull it all together.

      Good luck

      Look good, I think I'm going to wrap the factory dash and console with carbon fiber sheets too.

      Looks good, but it is hard to visualize with it not installed. Post up some pics when you get it installed too!

      I have alot of the same questions for a '69 Bird. Not sure what to do, but I would like to incorporate some better, more accurate, more legible gauges into the car.

      I might do a hood tach..gotta decide soon, but not sure if I'm after that nostalgic of a look or not for something that isn't exactly state of the art compared to today's instruments.

      Are you sure the one for the 69 camaro doesn't fit. Cause i know for sure the 67-68 camaro insert fits the firebirds as well. I saw this which is how i know http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2311224. Might be something to check out.

      Dakota Digital makes a dash for your car. Heres a link:http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.c...rod/prd484.htm

      Its not the same as having analog instrumentation but it does give you kind of what your looking for.

      Those gauges are to use with your stock dash. Autometer will fit in as well.
