      Ls2 Front Drive set up

Best place to buy an OEM Front drive setup for an ls2? After the speartech Flaming River and ATS expenses I'm about tapped so any input would help.
      Thanks

Get one off a truck motor in a junk yard. Swap the water pump to a F-body style and use Speartek's new tensioner to get the proper alignment.

So the truck drive system will clear the stock frame? Thanks for the info.

Never claimed that, but notching the frame is alot cheaper than what the aftermarket setups are going for...

We're all starting to learn that it all depends on what accessories you run (the A/C is the lowest) and what motor mount set up you use. Some are much higher and position the motor more towards the front of the car than others.

The GTO front drive set up should not be to will not be too hard to come buy here as they seem to be crashed daily. However I would like to Have my A/C in these trying times of global warming. I wonder if the bracket that classic auto air supplies would work with the GTO set up.

      LS2 LS7 acc'y drives

Bill Chakos @ Foothill Ranch has all the parts and numbers to hook you up with OEM. It's still half the price of Billet aftermarket stuff.(949)457 -2000 . What I like, if your on the road and need an alt. or power steering pump, any GM or Auto Zone can save you. Plus it matches, not having to buy or rebuild a polished one when you get home.........

Half the price is still $1500...... Way too much in my opinion..........

I paid $1500 for my entire motor with the wiring harness.....

Your best bet is to watch LS1tech.com for used parts. I have a LQ9 going in to my 68 Camaro. I sold all the truck Accessories and bought used f-body parts. I have just over $200 in everything. The only thing I still need is a alternator, which I'll probably just pick up at autozone. By the way I sold the truck parts for just over $400, so I'm hopefully going to come out a head in the game.

And you could have kept them all and just switched out the water pump and one tensioner and been right back where you will be when you get the alternator....

Kinda hard to keep the big ugly truck bracket when it will be right in the way of my GTO Procharger bracket... Trust me I did my research. I was going to go with the truck Procharger kit but it runs off the same belt as everything else. I'll stick with the 8 rib GTO kit for less belt slip.

But hey thanks for trying to make me look like a dumb ass...

Just as much as explaining your situation in full the first time around. You may be mad at me, but you're the cause....

      Thanks
