      Opinions on floating rotors?

      My buddy that works for a vintage race shop is talkin about floating rotors, what do you guys think?

      arnt those for bikes?

      ive only seen those on motor cycles, i dont think they have a point on a car due to the thick rotors. i could be wrong though. i know they help if the rotor gets warped (or bent like on a dirt bike)

      They are good but mainly on race cars where the rotors get really hot. They cost a lot more money but ae supposed to reduce rotor distortion when the rotors get hot, add to durability of the hat since it isn't as highly stressed.

      yes, definetly a plus. Porsche uses them on their turbos too.

      they real way a rotor should be built, but of corse, cost cutting and simplicty rule the OEM's. most likely you will never need them, but if you have the cash its worth it
