      Flowmaster issues

I installed the flowmaster kit -after headers to tailpipes on my 67 camaro and I cannot get them adjusted so they quit banging around.

      Any suggestions?

I am seriously considering (even though I dont want to) cutting off the tailpipes and putting dumps before the axle-its drivivng me nuts!

If I do this, will I regret it?

Almost all tailpipes I've seen rub on the leafsprings and the rear quarters. I have trimmed down the edge of the rear quarters to try and stop it. The latest thing I've done is to bend the weld flange around 90 degrees so they aim down instead of at the pipes, It works great. The last two cars I intalled quarters on I made sure there is enough room for 3 inch or more tailpipes. It doesn't look exactly stock, but no one can see it from more that a foot or so away. You can hear the pipes rubbing from a mile away!

I agree with Chicane, keep the tailpipes. You will not like the droning inside your car with the Flowmasters and turn downs. I have 3'' tails on my 69 with no issues. Just took alot of finess.
