      BBC Accel SuperRam

Anyone running the Accel SuperRam DFI (Gen VI or VII) on their BBC? I got one (NOS Gen VI) and I'm not sure what to do with it!

      Thanks,
      Al

I bought it as new old Stock (NOS) about 6-7 months ago! Yes it's Gen VI.

The manifold is good, but don't expect to make 1000hp with it. I was more geared to make good tq. I have the oval port version on a BBC truck and it makes alot of tq, that was what it was designed to do. As far as the computer, it's out dated. You need a computer that runs DOS to access it! Your better off spending the money and buying the GEN7 computer and harness. What's the CID of the motor you whant to put it on, 572?

Thanks for the info DC454. I was not planning on a 1000hp with it but I was wondering if it would support the 572/620. I'm even thinking about a bit smaller cam for the 572? I still have an old P-II laptop I'm holding on to just for the Gen VI. Putting it on the 572 means changing the distributor anyway so why not the rest to upgrade to Gen VII, I guess.

Right now I'm considering it for the 468 I'm putting in my old Vette. The problem (there’s always a problem in Al’s world) is the heads that I have and want to use on that motor are oval port! I have a pair of new iron Merlin rectangle port heads but the Edelbrock Performer RPM heads I have are setup for the cam I’m going to run and CR would be closer to what I want! The fresh short block I have has JE flat tops and even with it’s zero deck it will only yield about 8.3 CR with 119 cc Merlin’s. Then of course there’s the weight!

if you want to get rid of it, let me know. i'm trying to put together a 496 with EFI. i am looking at buying a pair of Dart pro 1's and doing an efi setup. later
