I have AON car insurance on the 67. well i find out last week that they are no longer doing the collector car side of the house and wont be renuing any policies. Elite collector car is buying out the policies. I guess im postiong this as both a heads up to those of you who have Aon, and to find out whho people are using for insurance. i originally went with Aon because i was under 25 and they were one of the only ones who would write me a policy, plus there were no driving limitations. any suggestions on who to get quotes from if i dont like what elite comes up with? a big factor has to be the lack of driving limitations. thanks

I used to have Hagerty, really good company, but the premiums went up a couple times for no reason (honestly). I switched to Grundy and haven't had any problems with them, but then, I haven't submitted a claim either, so who knows what'll happen if I do submit one.

I just got my new insurance coverage ID and packet today for my Camaro. I was really happy with the pricing - 1k, 3k, and 5k mileage plans, and uses an agreed upon value. Got it thru a local broker here in NorCal but the insurer is:

dropit69, i just got a packet in the mail today from both aon and elite. i have too look through it a little more closely but it looks to have satyed the same as far as coverage, and the price also went down 20 bucks. might have something to do with me turning 25 this month. the woman i talked to said that the coverage will stay the same, but they can tell you that till they are blue in the face. if its not in writing it doesnt mean squat.

Grrrrr. Aon had way better provisions for driving than some of the others. A lot of the other companys get all squirlly about driving to and from shows, and not driving to work, and blah blah blah. Taken to the letter of the coverage, I'm lead to believe if I took my car for a ride down to the ice cream shop I would not be covered with someone like Hagerty. Not cool. That was why I liked Aon so much. :(

Hartz mee too thats why i changed to them..loved that it was unlimited driving..and sweet premiums too..hope the ones that bought them will do the same..

I have American Collectors and had a claim.

I had the check before I had the parts!

If you have a driving restriction (can't drive the car to work, ect.) you can get around it if you think about it

i read through the packet and talked to some folks at elite insurance and it seem as if all the good parts roll over from aon. but only because we are transfers, not new policies. prices were about the same, 20$ cheeper but thats probally because i turned 25 in march and all my insurance has gone down.

So is the age 25 restriction something that all the other insurance co's still have in place, i.e. hagerty, grundy, etc?? I've looked on their website and haven't found that restriction, but i don't doubt it.

Anyone under 25 with collector car coverage? I still have a year to go, but the car will be ready to drive in a couple weeks!!

Now I write a boat load of policies for them. Have had a couple of customers who had claims and Grundy was great at handling them. They do have the 25 age restriction along with no driving to work or to run errands (basically they don't want to know about it if your car is hit in K-Mart's parking lot - you shouldn't have been there) but other than that they are great. Seriously. "you have no business being there." What a pile of crap. It's not like a drive my car down to the ghetto and park it with the keys in the ignition, but I sure as heck want to take it places other than shows and parades.

There's a cruise about 2 blocks from where I work. So if I take the car to work that day so that I can stop in at the cruise afterwards - it's not covered? No thanks.

In the example you gave it would most likely be covered, at least as your agent I would fight for the coverage. I don't make the rules for these policies so I try to find the best fit for my customers. Here in MA your only choices are Hagerty, Grundy or JC Taylor. Hagerty and JC Taylor both having even more restrictions than Grundy (another reason I went with them). MA also doen't let you put any car newer than 25 years on a collector auto policy which sucks because I have to run regular coverage on my Syclone.
