      Heater core

Looking for any tips for removal of heater core on first gen F body.
What is best place to start; engine bay or interior? Is fender removal a must?

      Thanks

If you just want to remove the core, it comes out from the inside. If you want to loose the whole heater system, the heater box on the firewall is a bear to get out. You either have to take the fender off, or cut it in half at the fender and fish the blower portion out of the fender.

not to hijack your thread but if I just wanted to see the hidden vin would I still have to remove the fenders to get to it or do you just need to do that to remove the core completely?

      Thanks

Do you mean the blower motor unit under the fender on the passenger site fender?

You probably are looking at removing the fender or inner fender.
