Hi! I thought I should register and check in. I'm a member of the Trans Am Country, 1978ta.com and Peformance Years forums and some of you may know me from there.
I've had the car described in the signature and pictured below for about 4 years now - its my 4th Trans Am; I bought my first one more than 25 years ago. This one was drivable, mostly complete, and in reasonably good condition with about 57,000 miles when I bought it, but one day I went to change the heater core, and one thing led to another and now I'm doing a frame-off restification of the car.
I have been able to get the hard-to-find VSE parts that go into a Stage II Fire Am, and I plan to use those, and equivalent parts, to build my car to equivalent specs (and there are some places where I can further improve). However, my plan is to keep the car in the spirit of a late-70's -early 80's Trans Am tuner car.
Here is the car as it was when I got it:

Here is some of the work done to date:

And here is how it sits at the moment:

The front subframe and rear axle have been mostly done (but aren't finished), and my next project is to remove them to clean up and refinish the undercarriage before completing putting together the suspension. I'll be using Koni shocks, and thought I would use EBC Yellowstuff brake pads; I'm working on making a set of the brake cooling ducts like those offered by VSE back in the day.
Looking forward to learning a lot on this site.
