      Paging silver69camaro

Matt i see in your ne 07 catalog you are offering new wilwood spindles. i currently own one of your max g full frames for a 68 camaro. I spoke with don wilette very briefly about these new spindles as i was at work. I have i believe the original dropped spindles you offered for the frame at the time. can you tell me the benefits of the new spindle and if it is worth changing to it? Also will the new spindles work with my chassis. Chris

The new spindles are quite a bit different than the older style we use (and still do use). As you probably know, the drop spindle you have is based on the Mustang II type. Obviously, we sure don't use Mustang II geometry, but we use that spindle because it is reliable and plentiful.

The new Wilwood spindle is a very, very high quality forging that even surpasses the OEM spindle in strength. The upper ball joint has been raised 1/2" for better roll center migration.

Another big change is the difference in brakes in which it is compatable with. It uses a radial-style mounting system, just like what you would find on C5/C6 brakes. This makes it easier to fit small and large rotors without major changes in brake kits. The downside: brakes are more expensive. It is, however, an overall better design.

This spindle is compatable with your suspension, which if I'm not mistaken, is our GT Sport geometry setup. Either way that suspension will knock your socks off, but if you want it a wee bit more out of it, the Wilwood spindle is a nice addition.
