      Old car, new paint

Here is a pic of my 69 AMX, I bought it when I was 19 waaaay back in 1977. I tore it all apart and rebuilt it in the early 80's but never had a garage to store it in so the years took their toll. I tore it apart again last winter and freshened it up....new paint, bumpers, weatherstripping, wiring, motor, clutch, ceramic headers, new mandral bent exhaust,tires...ect. I wanted to go with 17 inch wheels but ran out of funds so I still have the old western 15 inchers from 20 years ago. Got it running 2 days before the Elko Nevada car show in sept, made the 850 mile round trip with no problems. I can almost bet when I take it to car shows around, it will be the only amc there, kinda fun having somthing unique. O and the last pic....guess where my friends were found hanging out?

Wow. It must be a heck of a feeling to have held on to the same car for so long - sometimes it feels like I've been driving my Elky forever (learned to drive in it back in 85) but that pales compared to your time with the same car.

Thats my buddies 73, he doesnt understand all this pro-touring stuff but get this...zz-4 motor, 700 trans vette brakes suspension stuff, chrome hooker headers, 16 inch wheels, lowered, driven about 8000 miles a summer...Pro touring? He loves to pick on the newer vettes....lol. Thanks for all the comments guys! Now I am working on my twin turbo 72 vette, got the hot side about all finished up and am working on the intake stuff now.

      the 72

I'm afraid the 72 is going to be a long drawn out project, I been collecting parts for the last 2 years, besides the turbo stuff I have a c-4 front and rear suspension that I want to use on it. I want to narrow the rear setup and will have 335-35-18's and 275 18's on the front. I have most of the turbo parts and couldnt help myself...started tearing it apart a few weeks ago to mock up the turbos. I have the exhaust mostly finished, but I need one more 38 mm tial wastegate so I can finish mounting it then its on to the intake side. I still have to do the fuel system too. Hoping I can drive it in a few months. How good does an intercooler work in 20 degrees below zero weather?
