Basic cost of install?
Hi all,
I know I have lots of reading to do but maybe I can get a push in the ls2 direction..
I am sick and tired of carbs! I was planning on rebuilding my 350 and bolting on an EFI system this year. I was not planning on reusing my short block just my Edelbrock heads. My friend and I were discussing how much better a LS2 is but the additional cost might put the brakes on that upgrade. What am I really looking at for a basic swap? I’m not thinking about the cost of the engine just the rest required to drive again. I can do all the labor myself (hopefully).
The fuel system is a wash since I’m going EFI regardless.
Headers, wiring (w/ computer), mounts (I can make?), Shorted drive shaft, pulley mounts.
Am I missing anything? Can I use the new 700r4 I bought last year?
Thanks guys

It might give yo a better idea of what's involved. Cost will depend on a few things, if you get a complete motor with accesories, wire harness & PCM (which I highly recommend) I'm pretty sure a 700r will work, do some searches on www.ls1tech.com in the conversions/hybrids forum otherwise check out S&P www.hotrodlane.cc
The install would also depend on how high a quality of parts you want? LT headers, shorties, SS EFI tank, custom rad/fans etc or just trying to re-use the 4th gen rad/fans or mod the stock tank as some people have.
My guess with a complete motor & tranny setup $5K low to $10K high.1969 CAMARO RS

Maybe I should just bite the bullet now and make the conversion.
The cost isn't as bad as I thought since I was going EFI anyways.
Thanks for the links there going to be real helpful!

You may want to look into an LS1 or LS6. You can usually pick up an LS1 for a lot less than an LS2
