      Direct from Hydratech's site:

Q: What type of fluid should I use with my power steering system. I have been told the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) can be used?

A: OEM fluids from the dealer are the absolute best. You can use any type of commercially available power steering fluid that meets the specifications of your vehicle. You should not use any type of ATF as it may foam excessively when it gets warm. Please also be very careful not to accidentally use the wrong fluid in either the brake or the power steering systems as substantial systems damages will occur!

The best for hydroboost/power steering setups is a synthetic grade of DOT 3 or what ever the orginal maufacturer specifies.
The synthetic will be more temp stablil and tend t condiditon seals and the pump will generally be quieter.

Huh? Why are we talking about running brake fluid in the power steering assist side of a hydroboost?

Brake fluid goes in the brake master cylinder, power steering fluid goes in your power steering pump/reservoir.

I've been using Redline PS fluid and Ford Motorsports brake fluid with my Hydratech Hydroboost system. No problems.

I know this is a very old thread but thought I’d give it a try to get some clarification/help. I have a Hydroboost system in my 69 Camaro with a 6L90e and recently went to go drive it but the shifter won’t get out of “Park”. I drove the car about 2 months ago. After further digging in, I noticed a leak from my PS Gear Box and was wondering if that was the culprit? Before I swap out the gear box, would I just need to add more PS fluid to get pressure up to standard or what else could be the issue of my shifter not going into any other gear?

      Thanks in advance.
