      custom steering arms

Where can I get custom steering arms made for my aftermarket chassis with AFX/HEIDTS spindles. ATS wants $600.00. Not that $600.00 is a bad price, but I thought I should shop around a little just to see what is available before I make a decision. Maybe somebody local to me so I can go there if they have any questions. I will probably have the plans for it, I just need them machined up.

Call local machine shops. If you have plans for some, get a quote to have some one off parts made.
It cost me $173 per pair in LARGE quanity to make the A/G body steering arms that we sell for $175. If you thought $600 for a one-off pair of the highest quality steering arms on the market was bad, wait until you see what a local shop will charge for a 1 off.

your telling me that you make $2.00 on a set of arms. I didn't say $600.00 was a bad price, I thought maybe someone might have an idea of where else near me I might get them done, or maybe another suggestion.

hey Tom, I got one I could sell you for $599.99. Hell i'll even throw in the other site too.

$2.00 profit isn't bad for something no one eles makes. You make money in the long run.

Yeah, I make $2 bucks on them. I make them because we need to make our product the best it can be for the A body guys, but we don't want to lose sales because we have to make 30 points on it. The A body guys already have to pay a bunch of money to get into the handling game, and if we charged $425 per set, not many would upgrade to the AFX spindle. I'll take a hit on 1 product to help sell more of another one.

Yeah I get it, sell it as a kit for them and they will come. I might even upgrade to a set of AFX spindles for my Martz chassis if Mark from SC&C says there geometry is what I need to fix this POS. The only problem will be the steering arms. The A body is too long, I can't move my rack that far forward. Thanks for the response, I borrowed a set of AFX's from my buddy to take measurements, very nice product. That is why I'm going to use them if it works out. I didn't mean to upset you.

Hang loose Tom. Get the numbers to me first so I can crunch em. Then I can tweak things and see what existing arms are close. I think a slightly modified set of ATS arms may work just dandy. BTW for $175pr. those things are the bargain of the year. Anyone priced 7075 T-6 lately? Mark SC&C

Hey Mark, that's why I posted, I don't know how much this would cost to produce. I figured maybe someone had a different solution. I will continue to figure out the measurements, they are a little confusing. I will be in touch soon.

      thanks again,
      -Tom
