I too have on of those stashed in th garage. Had the body off, blasted the frame, added disc brakes, and thats as far as I got in the last 20 years with all the other projects getting in the way. You and the other shoebox guys here need to get me motivated to get back on that one.

      welcome to the site

      Fellow Double-Nickel Lover

      55chevyman,

That is a nice looking double-nickel. I think I may have seen one like it somewhere, like my garage. :) I too have a 1955 Chevrolet 150 Sedan (w/210 trim). The body is about all that is stock. Keep in touch. We shoebox lovers have to stick together.

      Catch you later,

That color combo is a classic, isn't it? Very nice! Anxious to hear how the motor swap turns out.

Nice to see so many Classics here....

Glad to see so many classics here, particularly the tri-five chevies......
Here's my own '55 hardtop, getting tubular 'arms, disks, coil overs, and an LT1 396 w/T56, soon as I can make it all happen. Motor is coming together now, looking at around 450 ftlbs from 2300 to 6300, should be a good road motor. The six speed needs to be altered to move the shifter forward to clear the bench seat. Keisler Engin makes an adapter to handle that, just received those parts. It's fun to watch the "classics" become "pro touring" rigs....
