I agree...holy crap! A race car loosely called a street car, gotta love it!

that's actually my goal, build it as close to a full fledged GT1 race car (only w/ 2 seats) and run it on the street...don't care for comfort. It's probably not really pro touring since I don't have large rims and low profile tires but I did put a lot of effort into the suspension, brakes, frame stiffness and handling aspect.

Actually I would call this car the poster child for pro-touring.

That's pro-touring in a nutshell. This car is as much pro-touring (though it might fit better into the Street Fighter category since it's so radical) as any car on this site.

That is easily one of the sickest cars on the net. I thought I had something pretty radical, but damn! Excuuuuuse me!

A part of me is glad your on that side of the pond becuase 55-70 mph is no way to treat a lady like that!

Keep up the great fab work! It will be fun to see it come along.

      Finally it's rolling

Still lots of work to do though...in the mean time a lot has changed, I dumped the home made 5 bar rear suspension and built a double a arm IRS instead, figures why not do it right while I'm at it. As nice as the 5 bar with additional upper control rods was the double a arm was really what I wanted all along.

After coming up with a design:

I started building the components and this is the result

It was a lot of work but IMO well worth the effort, I now have a funnly adjustable suspension that on top of being fully adjustable is also easy to adjust and opretty lightweight compared to the stock setup, on top of that the toe contol problems are completely eliminated, this should handle infinitely better

I also finished the front steering end take off rack and pinion as you can see in some of the above pics, here's some details:

      Very nice work!

Hows the scrub radius with such a deeply offset front wheel?

It's worse than stock by about 1/2"... not much I can do about it, don't want to change the kingpin inclination with expensive custom spindles, I could chop and reweld the spindle upright if it's problematic but it probably won't be. Neg. offset wheels don't look right on a C3 IMO and to look good you sometimes have to make a small sacrifice, so what if the steering takes a little more effort, I can easily change the servo to change the assist and I have several rack shafts so I can change the ratio also, it won't be a big problem.

Zwaar onder de indruk!!!!! I've followed the build a bit, but these outside pics really show how impressive your car is. Hope to see it in real life sometime.

I just wanted to say that I am very impressed with what you have done and will bet that it will be something really special to all who see it.. But its you my friend who should be the most proud of what you achieved for no one understands the build and all the hundreds of details and problems you encounterred and persevered. So. Be proud of your achievements, you trully deserve it.. Best of luck, cant wait to see it done. phil in new york usa

Nice work! Glad to see you are keeping that old Vette all original using only NOS parts!
