4th gen console, will an automatic console work with my 4 speed?

I have a 4th gen console out of an automatic that I can go pick up for next to nothing, can I make this work with my hurst 4 speed shifter? or do I have to have a standard shift console??

Danny- it should work fine except for the top plate. You'd need a manual trans plate to put on in place of the auto plate. Unless you wanted to modify the auto plate. I can probably find you one at the salvage yard if you tell me what year console you have. I mocked up an auto console without the top plate on on my 69 4speed and it fit almost perfectly. One side of the console is longer in the back on one side. A little trimming and it would have fit very nicely. The front of the console had a nice spot to mount some gauges if you dont already have some. Maybe I will catch up with you this weekend, as chris & I talked about meeting up. Scott

I have a 6spd top plate ('98 I believe). Classic Industries says for 97-99 cars. How about $45 shipped?
