New PT project...now for something COMPLETELY diff.

Well...was perusing through e-bay a few weeks ago, and I said: "Hmm...I wonder if there happen to be any XJCs for sale????"

FYI, I've always loved these cars and I rarely ever see them. Surprise surprise that there happened to be one on e-bag VERY CLOSE (30 minutes from my work) to me and with one ALREADY w/a V-8 conversion!

Well...I checked it out and it looked real solid and it drove great! So I HAD to bid on it. And I won!

      Here she is.

Hey, it's already setup w/pro-touring mods! Jag IRS, Rack 'n pinion front suspension, Chevy V8 motor!

      I'm set!

So...for mods, I'm going to drop the front suspension some (kinda high after going from a heavy arse V12 to a lightweight mouse motor) and put on some diff. wheels. The key is to find ones w/the proper offset.

I already ordered ONE wheel of this to test fittment:

      Whatcha think???

maybe someday, I'll drop in a ZZ383 or something (LS2?), but for now, it'll be a cruiser and see what I can do to hop up that 305.

TireRack will sell you just one wheel.

As long as you don't mount a tire on it, you can return it.

I figure it's cheaper to ship to and from one wheel than FOUR wheels if it doesn't fit.

Not a whole lotta room under these jags, so biggest wheel that'd fit is a 18x8. I checked out what other Jag owners was using and +35 offset seems to be okay.

This AT Italia wheel has a +40 offset. An extra 5mm inboard shouldn't make much diff so it should work.

Yeah, shouldn't take much to get her looking like one of these fine examples:

Do you care to be the layer of the bricks that seal your fate? Would you rather be the architect of what we might create?

That's a pretty rare car in North America, in the 2-door coupe model. Very cool. A 305 though, blech!! Hopefully you can get a nicer version of a SBC engine in there soon. LOL

If I remember correctly, those cars had TH400s from the factory? Makes the swap much easier. Good find and priced right.

Sure do. Al Jag IRSs do. It's what the Heidt's IRS was modelled after.

Yes, the V12s did. I think a 4L80E should fit with some banging around. At least that's what I heard.

      This one's w/a TH350 though.

Well that's good. If you start wearing polos with the collar "popped", we will beat you.

Cool find, can't wait to see what you do with it.
