tick tick a-tick tick

I just finished installing Comp cams 213-3 complete kit. On cylinder #2 exhaust there is a definite “tick” noise coming from the lifter. I swapped lifters and the noise remained. I contacted Comp cams tech help and they gave me the “I don’t know what it is” answer. I got a “it might be a bad lifter” at the most. What do you all think? Most everybody said to put 500 miles on it and reevaluate the noise.
