Looking for machine services...
I have some pulleys drawn up (crank pulley and waterpump) and I am looking for a place that can make a run of them. they need to be CNC machined and I have 3D cad models of the parts (inventor 7.0 can be exported as an IGES file and can import into autocad if needed) I am looking for about 20 pairs of pulleys to be made. I live in a poor area so there is no local job shop (my engine machining even has to be sent out) so basicly I am looking for a place I can email my files to and get them machined and mailed back to me. I would like a place I can work with to save on some of the programming costs.
so are there any members that have had this done or do this kind of work?
the crank pulley does require a keyway to be broached in it.

12-20-2006 #2You might wana check a local university. The kinds might try it for a Sr. project or club project or someone might just use the schools machines and do it on their own time.
Pullies are a bit tricky though because of the ribs for the belt.-Tas

I went to the only local university...no go. they have noone that can CNC parts. as they do it all by manual machining still. I might try the local comm college and see what I can get from them maybe.
12-20-2006 #4How much are pullies goign for these days? Have you priced out materials and things? Are they for some special application like how some engines don't have aftermarket pullies for them?
