      Welding and Variprime

Does anyone know if its ok to leave variprime on while welding? The car has the etching primer on it and I thought it may work ok as a weld through primer. So far internet searches have not been difinative.

That stuff burns up if you try to weld. Also it will absorb moisture if left on without top-coating. It is probably better than nothing in hidden areas but I always cover it with something. P.S. you can call me if you want, I can give you exact feedback. FRANK
