      mini-tub pictures

Does anyone have any pictures of how thin the frame rail is on a 69 camaro after narrowing it? I have the DVD that came with the kit, but it doesn't actually show how thin the rail should be.

I don't want the rail to be too thin that it becomes weak, but I also don't want to run into clearance issues later down the road (no pun intended).

Also, how far back from axle centerline do you have to narrow the rail?

      Thanks!

Yeah, I've seen those pictures, but I was hoping for some pictures looking up at the frame from the ground. Its kinda hard to tell in the pictures on lateral-g the taper of the frame...

...but, I guess I can just cut out the rest of the trunkpan, fit the tub in the open space and trim the frame as necessary until the tub fits flush with the frame/trunkpan.

      Sound like a plan?

      Thanks again!

Here you go. Keep in mind I just rough cut this out with the plasma because I ran new rails. Once you fill back in with 1/8" and run the crossmember it will be plenty strong. You'll see where to cut the frame when you cut the inboard floor out.

Here are a few of mine if it helps. On the pic with the section cut out I added 1/8" plate on the inside and plug welded from the outside.
