      67 GTO Progress

Progress is slow, but I just got my wheels. Check out the link and let me know what you think about the stance. I'm leaning toward the higher in front lower in rear stance (first pics) as it seems somewhat consistent with the original stance.

By the way, I recommend putting on the wheels/tires and rigging the suspension to anyone doing a major resto as it is VERY inspiring to get a sneak peek of how your car will look.

I have a long way to go but, damn, I'm psyked.
      Thanks,
      Conno

      Center Caps

Are those the PMD repops off eBay? Just popped right in there?

I agree... repaint the centers with the correct grey and chrome two-tone! Great idea!

      Thanks,
The wheels are 17", and the center caps are original Pontiac. I had to bend the tabs in to make them fit but they snapped in tight.
I think I may paint one of the wheels with the rallye II scheme.
Is there a way to paint them but then remove the paint if I don't like it??

I'm going with 255/45-17's on the front, I haven't bought them yet. I used the 285's on the front for now to check the stance. They're almost exactly the same height.

I agree, the two-tone wheel looks great! Should look pretty sweet when it's all done, I like the stance the way it is too.

was thinking about going 19 inch with these wheels but Conner yor 17 inch look pretty good for size is the car lowered

Now I am thinking maybe 18's will be enough

Man that is a slick black GTO. I have a 67 with 17's and 18's but I don't have any pics small enough to attach. I don't have a program to shrink them right now. I'll try and get some up soon. I think you would like 18's. It depends on the sidewall you like. Corvettes are pushing the available performance tires up again. They have 19's on the back, so you can get some F-1s now I assume. You will find alot more choices in the 17's and 18's performance tires and the prices increase sharply after 17". Just some extra info if any of that matters to you.

      Yes,
      Damn nice black '66.

I'd go w/ the 17's & 18's, but it all depends on what you like, and the tire sidewall your looking for.

I tend to like a little more meat on the sidewalls, but it's all personal preference.

You'll definately have to lower the car some to make them look right though.

I am just about to start my 66 olds and am gathering wheel ideas.

I would really like to see those pictures. If you have windows you will have paint program that will shrink them. Just make a copy before you start if you want to still have a full size version in your drive.
