Those cars are rare and good for the guys if they can get that much for them. These prices have brought a whole new group of owners into the hobby. They only know what it is worth and that is is a good bet it will go up. So you buy one then what. I bet the cars set in a garage until the new owner desides to cash in on his investment. I dream of the day I can buy one of theses cars after the market slides for 1/2 of what the "invester owner" paid and lay about 100 feet of rubber as I leave his house. I really don't think that will ever happen but man it would be a blast. I am not in the hobby for profit or using my retirement fund to pay form my car so if the prices went down it would be great in my eyes.

I heard there was a Baldwin Motion Buick GSX 1 of 1 on e-bay last month sold for 638k but I can't find a link.

Found the link it didn't sell the reserve wasn't met.
I bet it shows up at Barrett Jackson or some other auction.

I think the guy with the Black on Black car talked about it in his listing. Ya I want to be known for paying the most ever for a car. Whats wrong with these guys.

The guy in the second (silver) auction seems like an ass..

Any pics of the engine? Vin #?
      Nov-28-06
A: Yes and the winner can see them.
Not very cooperative for a guy that wants half a million $$ for his car... and what a crappy short lack of description.. oh, and not even sure it's the original engine??

Cool car though.. betcha a $1 that the first bid is a schill bid.. lol

I thought the same thing about the description and the first bid. And you don't even know if the drivetrain is original?!?! Let me get my checkbook!

Should I bid on them? What are they going to throw me in jail if I can't pay? LOL The one with several bids is only a few miles from me.

Oh to the above comment, I think they can afford the real stuff.

I agree, and I am certain of that. Look closely at the bid history. Even though it does not show many details, it does show the date and time of the bids. The bidding always occurs within the hour after the first bid for the day.

edit: Doh. I forgot Wooderston drove the Chevelle, Melbatoast. Pickford had the orange GTO.

I can't imagine anyone capable of earning that much money could be dumb enough to pay 500k on a car with as little detail as that! I also can't believe that either car would bring this kind of money. I know they are rare but...

Now your talking. A few years ago somone posted a picture of an old Mercedes Benz wagon with an LT1/pro charger done very much with a pro-touring look. It looked awesome. Look at this years pictures from the SEMA show and get inspired by the Volvo.

I've heard some 70 GTO's (RA IV or V) going for 1.5 mil so they can bring big money just like the Hemi E-bodies.
