Help me choose a 427 small block

I am working on our new Classic Chevy 5-Speed 67 Camaro. It will be our first gen Camaro prototype car for testing new Tremec related transmision products so we can develope newer and better conversion kits. I will be buying a new motor for it and need some input selecting the best choice. Here are my requirements:

1. Needs to be a carburated 427 small block (personal preference).
2. I am looking for a turnkey set up (carb to pan).
3. Reliability is important.
4. I needs to be streetable on pump gas.
5. Will not be racing it - just a strong street car.
6. Price is not the driving factor but I do not not want to go overboard.

Ther are several 427 builders out there. I want to avoid making a mistake - I want to go with a trusted, reputable company.

I would check out Bill Mitchell. They sell a carbed. 427 small blocks that are complete and comes with a 2 year warranty, pump gas friendly and 400 to 600 h.p. www.worldcastings.com. You could also check out www.ultrastreet.net. I hope this helps..

Either Or, Bill Mitchell or Scott Shafiroff , both offer warrenties, theve been in the business for a long time, and both build super nice engines

I have the all aluminum 427 from Bill Mitchell and I love it! It feels so good having 520hp under the hood with the engine only weighing 355lb. The quality of the engine is amazing. Bill Mitchell also has the iron version 427 with aluminum heads which is just as powerful. Hope this helps you.

The Bill Mitchell 427 aluminum engine is about $12,000 and the iron w/aluminum heads is a little under $10,000

I am leaning towards the Bill Mitchell 427 for various reasons.
The guy you referred me to (Paul at Dynowest) is a great guy and I will consider him for sure in the future.

hey i have the same motor as novass. its absolutely amazing. extremely reliable and world is one of the most trusted brands out there. i know my motor guy clarence was more than i could ask for. if you left a message he would call be 3-4 times. he set me up with what i needed. i went with the world class because of the cam. its more streetable than the hardcore motor while only having a couple less horse. great motor and great help. you cant go wrong
