      SEMA, on site registration.

It looks like I am going to get to attend SEMA, but I will be forced to register onsite. Just looking for a heads up; is this going to be an all out pain in the "rear", or is it relatively quick and painless?

That depends on you! Read the SEMA website requirements for registration and bring ALL the information required and you will not have any problems.

Given all the "talk" by SEMA this year about the public attending this "trade only" show, I am sure that management will not be near as lenient about onsite registration issues as they have in the past.

As far as being a paint in butt, at this late moment onsite registration is your only option so grab something to read in line while you wait AND bring the proper required paperwork.

They completely screwed up my on line registration, so I'll be waiting in line with you. Mike's right, bring the documentation that legitimizes your association with the automotive profession, and you'll get in. There is no doubt that the rules have been tightened this year, and if the on site is anything like the on-line fiasco that I was forced to go through (and I am previous exhibitor, and a current SEMA member, as well as being pissed), it could be ugly.

Wear comfy shoes. And go the bathroom before you get in line, you might be there a while.

As long as you have a legitimate business and all the required paperwork, it should go very quickly.

I have faxed the requirements 3 times now and have not head anything back, looks like I will be waiting in line with you guys. This sucks since it took a lot to convince my boss that this was not a boondoggle trip (we are an OE supplier).

Here's a link off of the latest SEME eNews on what you need to get in at the show. Good luck.

You might consider taking your first-born with you, too.
Doesn't look like I'll be attending SEMA any time soon.

We went through the same thing with the online registration. They basically want to see every piece of paper you ever recieved in your entire adult life, the death certificate of someone named Phil, the title of your favorite song and a signed confession from J. Edgar Hoover that he liked to wear women`s clothing. If you have all that you still have to show them a business card at the door (which can easily be printed by any 6 year old these days). Okay it`s not quite that bad but the problem we had is that they want several things shown on a given document and sometimes they`re not *all* listed by the state or whoever. We didn`t print the stupid things! It took us 3 fax sessions and 3 phone calls but it looks like we`re confirmed now and just have to pick up our badges (fingers crossed!). Good luck with it and hope to see you all there! Mark SC&C

      Mark,

Will you be at the Pro-touring dinner. I look forward to meeting you and discussing several G body suspension ideas.

I`m sorry but I won`t be at the PT dinner. I really wanted to go but I was invited to a private dinner with a manufacturer on the same night at almost the same time...figures. I still hope to meet some of the PT family at the show and afterwards though. If anyone here sees me wandering around (among the 10 gazillion other people) come on over and say hi. I`ll be wearing a blue polo shirt with our "SC&C flame guy" logo on it. Mark SC&C
