      Vin # Help Needed

hey guys I'm about to go pickup a 69 firebird this weekend BUT the guy sellin it says the vin plates are not on the dash or the cowl because it is a drag car and always was...so my question is are there any other places I can find a vin # on this car? he said he would give me a bill of sale and i could take it to the dmv or chp and they could help me...but i dont see how with no vin #s....

honestly I cant really pass it up for the $500 he said I could have it for I figure the disc brake complete subframe and rear end are worth that at least...
the body looks like its in good shape in the pics...i'll hafta see in person I guess....

      thanks in advance.......

The last 8 of the VIN are stamped in the top of the cowl in front of the opening on the right side of the cowl top. But without a VIN tag you can never verify the first numbers / letters, so you will be screwed. The same 8 numbers are also under the heater box cover on the firewal in a couple locations on a non air car, but again, no help to you.

You are buying this thing for parts if you buy it.

BTW, Unless it is a 12 bolt, i see little to no value in the rear. And I have a couple disc brake sub frames for $350 that won't go away.
