Trunk Carpet
I have Woody's HotRod E-Z panels in my trunk and I am starting to look at what to cover them with. What do people use? This will be a low dollar cover as I will try it myself first.
Thanks
JEFF

09-28-2006 #5Jeff,
I sent you a pm asking the same following questions.
How do you like the fit of the panels and how are you going to attatch them? What are the panels made of and can you cut them to put access doors in? I want to be able to hide my nitrous bottle and my cleaning supplies but still be able to get to them without to much trouble.
Thanks,

The panels fit well. The system is set up to have tension only hold them in place. It has worked with them unfinished. When finished they will be tight. The back and sides are easily removed.
Made of 1/4" masonite material finished on both sides. Additional opening could be cut, but if the tension system is used, they would not be needed.
No figuring or cutting is good for me. The hinge opending needed filed down alittle.
Chris at Woody's was great to work with.
09-28-2006 #7Does anyone on here have any more pics done with the same as this kit Jeff has? First Gen pics if possible.
The kit itself isn't priced to bad. I don't think I could get some masonite and make one myself considering the time it would take for measuring and cutting.
Thanks for the info Jeff,

09-28-2006 #8I tried googling, but could not find Woody's HotRod. Could you or someone else post a link to the site?

The insructions call for 2 lenghts of a 2x4 to be placed under the bottom panel for support. When the 2x4's are in place, they are sturdy.
I have never touched or installed DynaMat, but I would think it could be applied.
The links above are correct.
10-03-2006 #11Anybody got any pics of their trunk finished off? Does not matter what it is made of, I just need a couple of ideas. I have a nitrous bottle behind each wheel tub and planning on a nice stereo system when I go to finish my trunk. I like the masonite idea.

Nice job, How did you guys attatch the panels. Also, do you have any problem with heat bothering your amps.
Anyone else have any pics?69 RS Rat. Ocean View, De. 19970 If you wake up and you can put your feet on the floor, IT'S A GOOD DAY!!!

10-04-2006 #16Right now the panels next to the sub are held in by industrial velcro. The side pieces are just press fit - after everything is upholstered then I will go back and see what needs to be modified if the upholstery shop doesn't.
I set up some fans that turn on when the amps are on to cool them.

Nice job on trunk. I have some houndstooth material left over from doing 2001 seats in my 69. I think I will incorporate that with some leftover black vinyl to do my trunk. Winter project.
Thanks guys.69 RS Rat. Ocean View, De. 19970 If you wake up and you can put your feet on the floor, IT'S A GOOD DAY!!!
