      DSE Mini Tub Install Questions

My shop will be doing a full floor, full trunk, quarters and inners, and new frame rails within the next few weeks on my 69 Firebird. Because I am going this far into the car, I figured I may as well do the mini tub kit from DSE while they have the qtrs and inners out.

After doing some research here, I read that there may be a mod required to the frame rails?? I would prefer not to notch the rails, is it possible to install the DSE kit without notching them?

I am afraid not. The inner wheelhouse sits right against the framerail. To make the wheelhouse wider you need to either flair the 1/4 or widen the inner wheelhouse. Since most feel that Camaros do not look that good with fender flairs the minitub is the preferred method on getting the wider wheels in there.

What is the underlying fear you have cutting the frame rails? You are getting major work done so it would not be much more work to do it.

get them in while you are doing the rest.i put in new frame rails and then cut them for the mini tubs.i know it sucks to cut new rails but it is worth it for the end result
