      Subframe Install??

      Im Getting Ready To Re-install The Powdercoated Subframe On My 70 Camaro, Whats The Best Way To Make Sure It Is Installed Strait So That The Allignment Will Not Be Off. Thanks

      This is how I have done it on my first gen. It should work the same on your 2nd gen, someone correct me if I lead him in the wrong direction. I drop a point to the ground with a plumb bob from the centerline of the foward part of the forward most bolt of the LCA on both sides. I then drop a point from the factory index hole by the shackle on the back of the leaf on both sides. I then use those four points to check square.

      Search over at NastyZ28.com It has been discussed. There are alignment holes on the front body (middle) monts. On my 77, the LF is a round hole in the frame mount & the body, and the RH frame is a round hole & the body is an oval.

      Here is the diagram for a '69 - at least it gives you some idea where things are referenced. You should be able to find something similar for a second gen (for firsts these are printed in the fisher body manuals). Good luck.

      I also dont know about a 2nd gen but I did some reading on my 1st gen and used the factory allignment holes to get it in the ball park then I took measurements from everyplace i could just to make sure it was right
