      GT500 Dyno Sheets

A friend of mine just took delivery of his GT500 so we threw it on the Dyno for fun. Fairly impressive considering how docile it is. Nice car.

I have seen reports of low dyno numbers out of stock cars already . I know a reputable company that was only seeing 375 . That sucks , but those look to be real nice.

      375rwhp would suck..
Considering that most 03/04 Cobras with the 4.6 mod motor
      (advertised at 390 fwhp)
      dynoed 360 to 375RWHP.
      The GT500 is a 5.4 litre..

I dunno about you guys, but 454HP is about 520HP at the flywheel. Pretty damn cool if you ask me!

You should see the terrible 1/4 mile numbers.. low 13's and high 12's.. I've heard they suffer from heat soak.. bad

I bet not only the heat soak, but there is probably a lot of torque management built into the calibration to save driveline parts.

Not to mention skinny little back tires. Given the amount of work that went into other parts of the car, I am suprised that they roll on (what looks to be) stock mustang width wheels/tires.

GT500 has 285/40-18s in the back.

im on the mustang forums (hense my name) and a bunch of the guys who have gotten gt500's, have put slicks or mickey thompson radials on a 15 or 16 inch wheel and have seen 12.3's and 12.4's some even claim 12.1. With a custom tune to bump up the PSI your looking at a mid 11

The 3900 lb curb weight doesn't help them doo much.

A guy here in town just paid $30K over window for one... ouch!

Neat car but it makes my Chevelle looks like a lightweight at just over 3600 lbs.

I am sorry, but paying additional dealer mark up is a tax for stupidity.

I think these new Shelbys are pretty nice cars.
Yes they do suffer from being overweight.
Unfortunately this is a curse shared by most new domestic offerings.
The dealer mark ups, or as I like to call it
"the first on the block tax" is crazy
The sticker on the coupes is around 40k and the verts are around 45k. I am willing to bet that in a couple of years one could buya coupe with under 10,000 miles for 30-33k.. IMHO that is a great value. These cars respond to mods very well!
