      C6 Z06 rears on

I used the axle brackets from a 98-02 Z28 to bolt up to the 12 bolt.
Next, you have to drill out the mounting holes on the bracket to 14 MM. This is because the LS1 F body bracket recieves the threads to hold in the caliper "cage" and the C6Z caliper bolts directly to the axle bracket, with no cage or floating pins.
There is also a small area, about 2x3 MM that needs to be clearances on either the caliper or the bracket, I'll get some pics up of that later. It's minor.
The rest is just custom brake lines. The caliper doesn't float so you don't need rubber lines like you do with LS1 brakes, just a metric to SAE conversion line to the T in the center of the housing.
The E brake assembly isn't quite so bolt-on, You can either use a stand alone E brake like the one from Aerospace or Precision, or modify the internal drum brake like I'm going to do. I haven't got to that part yet.

      For the calipers... I'm thinking
      1. Re paint them solid red
      2. Do them a pewter color (the car will be blue with gold wheels)
      3. Re do them red, and re-letter them with "Camaro" in the same font and location as the "Corvette" printed on them now.

      Pretty awesome bud...

Question for you though, The Corvette logo on the calipers is just etched into the paint? or is it actually engraved into the caliper material?

If you do end up repainting them, paint them blue or black, and what'ya think about putting PBR on them like on PBRs website? That'd be sawweett.

The "Corvette" is just painted on there. If I do the "Camaro" print, I'll either have a sticker made, or hand-letter it. I thought about having the calipers powdercoated, but that would be 20 pistons worth of re-assembling to do, and I don't care that much.

The axle brackets are from the LS1 12" brakes I used to have on the car before I went all silly with the suspension and brakes.

Her's some pics of the part on the caliper that needs to be touched with a grinder (I'ts tiny)

      After

Here's the axle bracket being modified to let the caliper bolts pass through

sweet job Chris, someone should sticky your whole installation process for everyone to follow. Nice work.

Note: Please use a drill press vise when working with machined metal. I had a friend loose a thumb like that.

Good point about the 20 pistons to reinstall...

I found a site with a guy that applies the same paint that AP uses on their calipers to Porsche calipers and other euro stuff. Some of his reasoning behind not wanting to powdercoat (aside from the annoying part whistler mentioned) is that powdercoat is too insulatory of a material to properly allow the calipers to cool themselves.

I'll see if I can find the link again, but I'm sure there are better painting systems than the Duplicolor stuff.... Hell, just wire wheel them to bare metal and paint.

I don't know why, I can't stand the look of that corvette logo.

Great site. My 1st post concerns my 1974 camaro (LS6/ 700 R4). I have Eradispeed brakes (Baer) from my buddies '03 Z06. I know the fronts will work but it's the rears that some have told me that can't work(even using the 98-02 LS1 rear brackets.) . I 'm wondering if I can do a similar non floating caliper setup on the rear of my 10 bolt. I got the brakes for free( very few miles on the rotors /pads) along with the pbr calipers so I really want them to work if possible. I'm in the "homework" process ( I'll start next month) but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I've got the bottom of the car masked off for paint right now, I'll post up some pics of the completed job when I paint it. I used the handbrake assembly from the 4th gen F body, just spot welded the bracket that holds the cables above the driveshaft, so it uses OE E brake cables.
