Thanks man! Yeah, I've got a line now that gets repeated in his shop quite often "If somebody else complains about that, I'll tell them who to make the check out to... cause I'm not spending money on it!" LOL Knowing me, because of the investment I've done already, I'll fret over it until I get the first rock chip... and then I'll say screw it.

Some more wiring updates. This is moving a little slower than I had hoped, BUT, there's just a lot of crap to go in! The doors should go on next week, followed by more panels, etc. That's when it'll get really exciting.

Gas tank is in and looking good. Can't wait to black out the tail panel. I think it's going to look really sharp then.

Sorry for the crappy picture... I didn't realize how smudged my phone camera was until after the fact, but you can see the dash coming together slowly here.

It's just a LITTLE tight in there. Lots of stuff.

AC unit is installed and tucked up in there as far as it will go. I wish it could be totally hidden, but oh well.

Here you can see the engine wiring is all done and hidden as much as possible. Looking nice!

I realize and can appreciate that the wiring takes a long time, but boy it just looks like not much got done... until now! We're rock'n and roll'n now! The front end is back on, the tail panel has been blacked out, and I FINALLY found a steering wheel and it's installed. Freaking excited!!

The HDR setting on my phone likes to screw with the red of the pin stripe (and I forget to turn it off until I get home). See the second and third pictures for a more accurate representation of the color.

Nice project. Thanks for taking us along with you. I'm neck deep in mine and it's finally coming together. Hoping to drop the motor/tranny in this weekend and fire that puppy up. I'm still waiting on a couple of big things, but I have until the end of the month to get it together so I can put some miles on it before Hot August Nights up in Reno in like 7 weeks and I've already blown the last 3 months messing around.

You have one sweet ride there. My next one will have the DSE stuff front & back.

Thanks man! The DSE stuff is awesome, no question. This has been one hellishly expensive project though! Not sure I'd do it again to be honest.

Quick little update. A lot of odds and ends happened this week, like running the lines from the AC compressor in, and lines to the evaporator... stuff like that that's uninteresting to look at. BUT, the grill and lights are all in the front, so it's looking more and more together.

Also starting to see odds and ends like the door handles and stuff show up.

Maybe most exciting though was being able to sit in it today with everything in place! That was super cool. We were making sure all the pedals seemed like they were in the right place, and that the shifter felt right. Everything was good!

      It's alive!

I've waited a LONG time to hear this! Had a bit of a vacuum leak which was screwing with the idle a bit, but that seems to be sorted now. Love the way it sounds! (This is with no exhaust, by the way)
      http://danandholly.com/wp-content/up...623_112220.mp4

...And then this happened! The car can now move under its own power, which is freaking awesome.
      http://danandholly.com/wp-content/up...712_171200.mp4

With all that taken care of, the hood is on now.

Aaaand, turns out I ordered the wrong glass for the car. I accidentally ordered the glass for a convertible, and despite what I was told by one sales rep, it won't work on a coupe... not even close. :( Building a car is an exercise in patience, I know that much. The glass has been sent back... and so now we wait. We're basically down to installing all the windows, putting the interior in, and then putting the exhaust on... and then we're done. Seems like a short list, but I now have no concept as to when it will be done. Annoying and frustrating, BUT... oh well.

We're also going to need to lift the nose back up a bit, probably by about an inch, to make it all work. That's not a huge deal though.

I've also been playing with the front spoiler. I've always liked the originals, but think they need to be just a little bigger. So we cut it out of paper and taped it to the original. I photoshopped it black just to get a sense of what it'll look like. I think I'll need to see the real thing to know, but I'm digging it.

Hahaha, that's hilarious. My wife refers to the car as "the other woman", so I can totally relate.

I haven't taken many pictures of the engine bay, but I'll snag some later this week when I'm over at the shop!

Alright, well we FINALLY got the glass situation sorted out and new glass is on the way. Beyond that, nothing too new to share except that I did get to drive the car this week (albeit only about 100ft in reverse)! That was kinda cool. Video below because I basically love listening to it.

I also took some pictures of the car as a concept for a photo shoot with the car once its finished. Here's a couple from that >

This thing has slowed down to molasses pace... turns out the hardest part is actually getting it finished. We'll get rolling and realize we're missing something. Two weeks later getting rolling again, aaaaand missing something else. BUT, the car is supposed to go to the interior shop next week and the glass is in, the mirrors are on, and I'm sure some other things I'm not thinking of! Once that's done we've got a few little odds and ends and then we'll take it to get it tuned. I finally got the car registered and it's got plates now, which is awesome. Insurance once the interior goes in so I can send finished pictures.

I did, however, get the exhaust put on, which I'm stoked about. I went with the Magnaflow bullets. They're pretty nasty, so I hope I like them long term. For now, they'll do.

Oh! Somebody had asked what the engine bay looked like after it's all been put together. Here's a shot of that. It's SUPER dirty here, and I don't have the closeout panel on it yet that goes in front of the radiator, but you get the idea.

      Almost finished.... seriously this time

I feel like I've said this a million times now, but the Camaro is ALMOST done. The interior is finally done, save a few minor things. We're hauling it up to get it tuned tomorrow, so hopefully some videos of it moving will surface soon! Pictures below. The belts weren't installed at the time I took the pictures (I just set them in there to see what it would look like), but they're attached the way they're supposed to be now. I feel like the interior turned out great! Better than I was expecting actually. I like the throw back look with modern touches.

Here's a better shot under the hood with everything cleaned up

Rear seat delete. This is my favorite part I think. I didn't want to put a back seat in because you couldn't sit back there anyway due to safety issues with the rollbar, but I was nervous about it because I didn't have a vision for how we'd hide the humps from the DSE Quadra-link. The interior guy nailed it I think.

I looked at a lot of the custom options out there and quickly realized you could spend about as much as you wanted to on interior. To keep things sane, I just went with the deluxe interior from the factory 67s. That keeps the stock-ish look and I think it looks pretty sharp.

Well I got the car back from the tuner and was able to drive it around the last several days. I LOVE this thing. I used this time with the car as basically the shake down. Ended up putting about 70 miles on the car before dropping it off at the shop for final detailing and to knock out the remaining bugs.

While the guy was tuning the car, he also dynoed it, which I'm totally excited about. The car put down 449HP at the back tires, which works out to about 500HP at the crank, and that's exactly the number we were shooting for. I'm EXTREMELY happy about that. I know it's not a huge number by today's LS+blower numbers, but I'm happy with it. It gets loose in the back in 1 - 3 gears, so that's plenty good enough as far as I'm concerned.

Yes, the Magnaflow Bullets. I love the way it sounds at idle, but it's kind of... trumpety (?) at certain parts of the RPM range... I'm kinda on the fence about them. At WOT they sound awesome. I may end up swapping them out for normal Magnaflows in the future. I like it loud, but this is kinda rowdy. LOL
