      How to capture video?

I need a way to capture video from my camcorder. It is a digital 8 camera. I have a cord for it that converts it to a white, red and yellow RCA. I have a Dazzle DVC uploader, and a Dazzle Movie Star program, but 5 years of film school wouldn't teach me to use the frickin program. Anyone have a easy way?

Frank, I too have a Dazzle capture device. Does it plug into your pc with a USB connection? A firewire cable if available is MUCH better if you have it. I will try and call you on Monday. I'll call you now if you have something really good on video. LOL!!!!

These days, I mostly use a firewire right off my camcorder directly into my PC, but I may have one of the Dazzle boxes like you have too.

Mine has a bunch of inputs on one side, and pretty much the same ports duplicated on the output side. It pretty much does it all. Great for analog conversion to USB or Firewire.

If your Dazzle box is like that, it sounds like you just need either USB out of that box, or Firewire to connect it to your PC.

As for the software, I dont' have the same stuff you have, but honestly, you could also use MovieMaker2 from Windows. It's free and comes with XP service pack 2. It's downloadable from www.microsoft.com too.

It's simple, I could talk you through it in just a few easy minutes.

      Na, just Lisa getting............LOL,
Actually, It is just me racing last night. I am using a USB, but the dazzle software is being difficult. if you remeber, when i did the turkey tour it put it in a weird format. I am over it and want to get some new software that is idiot proof. Maybe something on a shareware site? or i will hit best buy if I have to.

Sorry about the delay! I'm not seeing a change in some of the forum main links when there are new posts.

I have that Dazzle MovieMaker software as well. I haven't used it for capturing since I realized that MovieMaker can do it.

All you need is that physical connection to the PC. It also has the typical fade in's and outs, old film look, 1/2 speed, double speed, all those gee-gaws and gadgets. (too many to list)

I'll try to attach a pic to give you a feel for it....
