      II Much progress

All right everybody, I've been away for a bit, but I do have some news: II Much runs!

Starting today (pun intended), I can turn the key, and the car will start. It's been a long and excruciatingly winding road, but it finally starts and runs like an actual car.

I've been "a week away" from this point for several months, starting in April. Along the way, I've moved the family (and the car) to Florida from Maryland, and met several cool gearheads down here in central Florida. Frank Serafine (Prodigy Customs) and Andrew Borodin have been awesome help, as I needed to consult with several experts to get this EFI setup sorted.

I've still got some problems to sort out: alternator doesn't seem to charge, transmission leaks (common early TKO-600 problem, I'm told), master cylinder leaks, etc. But I know how to fix all that, so now I'm on the final lap to get this 5 year project done.

Sorry: no pics yet. Keep an eye on PHR's October issue for a bit of a sneak peek at the engine. John Ulaszek did his usual incredible work with his camera and truck full of lenses. It may be his best yet.

DT, after the interior installation, then the windows. It better go easier than the engine harness and EFI or my head will explode.

I take it your install wasn't exactly "plug-n-play"?

Guy's let me tell ya, my reward for helping John, was I got to not only see the car. I touched it! John is a little bashful about braging on the car, so I will do it for him. The car is f__king awesome. I would like to say for a guy bulding his first car it is awesome, but I have to say it is awesome on a professional level. The detail work is incredible as John has simply taken the time to fiddle with every little fastner, every little detail until they are perfect. I never asked, but the hours must be well into the 5000s.

I will go out on a limb here and say that if the judges have it in them to choose a street fighter, I think John has at least a top 5 SMOTY next year should he pursue it. I know I will glady tow it up there for him.

Keep your eye on PHR's October issue. John Ulaszek shot a gorgeous engine pic, plus a little text from Mr. Rupp. It should be out in a week or so.

Arguably the most anticipated Pro-Touring car in history. The October issue can't get here fast enough. Thanks for the updates John....I can barely wait to see this work of art completed.
