      Paint chips on rear quarter

I have started to get paint chips (from rocks) on my 68 since I added the 275/40 17's. I have 17x9.5 with 5.5 backspacing, so the wheel isn't sticking out or anything. What ways can I prevent them and still look nice. Trying to stay wawy from tacky looking mudflaps. Any help would be appreciated.

      chip gaurd

hey there are a few different ways, i believe 3m makes a clear film that you can cut to any shape and apply, it comes off anytime, with no damage to the paint, also 3 m and others i believe make a clear chip guard which can be applied to the paint directly will give it a textured look, i would just tape upper 1/4 off and spray lower maybe 6 inches or so, it will just make it look orange peely, but you will not see it much as the 1/4 rolls in on the bottom some, goodluck

68/454...Good input on the clear vinyl I forgot all about this new stuff! A friend of mine has used it on his Black Supra to protect the front from rock chips. I was skeptical but it works well and his was applied on the black properly and does not look bad over it. I think I will use this stuff around the wheel wells also.
