      vortec V6

How much boost can a stock Vortec V6 with the plastic manifold take. I had one given to me out of a 97 Jimmy (it only has about 40,000 miles on it), and am trying to decide what I am going to do with it. I was thinking twin turbo in a Mazda B2200 truck.

Twins with 8lbs. won't burst that manifold. It's a similar thickness to the Z06 and there are guys boosting through them...

There's a lot more info on boosting the 4.3 in that site. I've started a thread to collect info for a "paper build" so I can get somewhat of a budget figured out.

you have other issue that you are going to have to address first such as compression. Most v6's take a crap after 6-7 lbs of post.
