      Pro-Race/Touring?

I've got my eye on a '95 Cobra R. The car was run in the '96 IMSA series and was then converted into a licensed and street-driven SCCA T1 spec car. It had Top 5 finishes in IMSA and it finished 2nd at the Valvoline Runoffs. It has it's SVT docs proving it's a real R model and a documented race history. It has it's original 351W shortblock with X303 heads and a mild cam. The suspension has every trick in Steeda's book. This thing looks like a fun toy for track and touring events. What do you guys think? Should I pursue it? Will it hold it's value?

Looks like a fun track toy, and if you decide to dabble in actual racing you'll be set with a car that will slot right into American Iron.

What's the asking price? IIRC, those were something like $35K new, and around 300 were built. I could see it being a future collectible Mustang, 15 - 20 years down the road, especially a car with a documented race history.

Asking price is $31K. Most of these cars I've seen for sale are in that range and it doesn't seem to matter if the car is a 0 mile garage queen or a battered track warrior. What do you think is a fair price for it?

I dunno, you might want to inquire over at CC.com, there are a ton of owners of similar cars there.

Caution though: there is one and only one specific thread for questions of that type. Post it elsewhere and it, along with your account will be deleted.

Crawl under the car and check suspension points, uni-body frame rails and such for damage. Not uncommon in Pro Race cars to have a little. Check it out thoroughly before making your decision. Looks like a nice ride!
