Air Ride shockwave users- Shockwave upper mount nut?
I'm just curious if anyone else who installed shockwaves on the front of a car had any trouble with the upper mount nylock nuts. Mine are so tight on the shockwave studs that I have to hammer them down to the threads, and pretty much can't tighten them without crossthreading. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong? Or have a solution for this? I know I've got the right nuts--They didn't get shipped with my kit originally, so they came all alone in a seperate package.

07-14-2006 #3yeah, they're similar, but about half the height (height being the vertical dimension when laying flat on a table). The upper section of the front studs are not threaded--they're smooth/rounded on two sides and notched on the other two to allow a wrench to be locked on. The nylon section won't fit over this smooth part to get down to the threads unless you take a deep socket and a hammer to it and force it over the stud. Once there, it's wedged so tight that it cannot be properly threaded.
