4L60E no first gear
I finally drove this 68 Camaro project car yesterday. It has a LT1 with a 4L60E out of a 98 Firebird. The computer is out of a 95 Camaro with the VATS removed. When I went around the block I notice it would start out in second gear. I manually shifted down into first and it would still start in second from a stop. Shift arm adjustment checked out fine. When I installed the engine harness,there was a plug for trans temp sensor. Would not hooking this up send the trans into a LIMP HOME MODE? Or is this more of a internal problem in the trans? The transmission was rebuilt.

I may be completely wrong here but I think the 98 4l60e will require a 98+ computer to control the shifting of the trans. There are seperate trans only computers (aftermarket and GM Performance).
Like I say no expert here but just guessing the 95 computer isnt designed for the newer trans.
