long cooling article but worth a read

i found this article on Chevy Hi Perf
      http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Confused i was curious on the part that states
"The shape of the fan's blades will change the fan's performance. A straight-blade fan is generally the most efficient fan possible, but often the noisiest. A quieter, curved-blade fan will move about 10 percent less air than a comparably sized straight-blade fan. "

So should a taurus fan still outperform a flex a lite black magic?

The Taurus fan will move more air.

The problem with curved blade fans is the CFM drops off more rapidly as the static pressure increases.

the number of blades, as well as fan diameter and fan speed, play an important part in how much air a fan can move. The Taurus fan is a curved blade fan, but it has 9 blades to compensate for moving more air while being quiet. It is also 16" in diameter. The Black Majic has 8 blades and is 15" in diameter
The Taurus fan is said to move about 3800 CFM, while the Black Majic moves 2800 cfm.
The Taurus fan also has a more powerful, and durable electric motor.
I took the restrictor plate off to give the Red Dragon a little more Juice. But keep that on the Down Low, it's not exactly street legal.
