Finally got the Z06 brakes in

The front rotors have the same part number, so I was wondering about this. Does it hinder performance, or is it just a aesthetic problem?

You have to admit that $1650 for a 14" front and 13" rear brake set with huge calipers is pretty damn good.

I'm going to start on the E brake issue with the rears this weekend, I have an idea that I' m pretty sure will work to keep the stock 98-02 F body E brake assembly.

The rear bolts right up to the LS1 rear bracket, you just have to drill out the threads on the bracket, as the Z06 caliper itself is threaded. You can see on this mockup axle I am using, the caliper is centered perfectly on the rotor. I am going to set up everything perfect on this axle, then transfer it all to the 12 bolt.

BTW- The car is not staying orange... so don't puke on the gold center wheels. As soon as I get all the new suspension broken in, I'm repainting it.

Can I ask what front spindle you are using? I think from past discussion it was a ATS piece?? Or is it?? Just curious if it was a bolt on in the fronts??? Thanks

GM's supplier ran out of right side rotors.... so even a new C6/Z06 gets two left sides from the factory.

Make sure that the caliper is completely centered on the rotor itself or you are gonna have some other issues pop up on you. I think the magic number is centered between 0.019" on each side of the rotor surface. But now that I look at it again.... the caliper braket being used, is going flex..... so keeping the rotor centered on the disc is paramount, front and rear.

I have another solution that I am working on, but the prototype wont be complete for another month and a half or two.

I don't care for now. I may upgrade the rotors down the road, but these will do for now.

I got the fronts on, piece of cake.

The rears look like they will work using an axle flange bracket from an LS1 F body, and some spacers to space out thge E brake drum. The drum mechanism is the same size for the LS1 F body and the new Z06.

$1650 is the best I found from a very reputable vendor.

Thanks on the wheels. It's going Daytona Blue (350 Z) with a decent amount of carbon fiber parts.

Give me a shout whenever.. I have meaning to get with you on some steering rebuild parts and clutch master parts for another car... just been busy as hell.
