help, new to this.
I own a 1970 chevelle, which I am itching to drive; it started to leak oil from around the bell housing, it will not leak when the car is off but as soon as I crank it up the oil will fly all over the floor. any ideas on whaqt it can be and is it something to really worry about?

Hi Ray, welcome to the site.
If you're spraying oil everywhere, that sounds like a substantial leak. My initial guess would be rear main seal; can you see if it's coming from above the bellhousing and dripping down or coming from within the bellhousing?
If it is the rear main seal, that'd be one to worry about, especially if it's as heavy of a leak as it sounds like.
