Capillary tube?
Can the capillary tube for the thermostat on the VA control panel be ran under the carpet, or will this affect the function of it? I want to mount the heater/ac control in my console but this means running the wires and cap. tube under the carpet....

No problem, just slip some rubber vacuum hose over it from the thermostat to the evaporator. It will sense better if it is insulated.
When messing with capillary tubes, never kink or break them, they cannot be repaired. If you do damage it, its not very expensive to replace and its critical to proper operation.
