ls1 vs lt1
Can I use a lt1 T-56 on a ls1 engine? If not, then why?
Thanks,
Clay

Clay, I don't think it'll work because the input shafts on the two trannies are different (lengthwise). I used to have a picture of the two next to each other, but I'm not on my home computer right now.

Different bell housing bolt pattern, different clutch setup, and a longer input shaft(for the ls1 I beleive). In theory, you could throw a LS1 bellhousing, clutch setup, and input shaft on the borgue-warner(lt1) tranny and use it but I've never known anyone to actually do it.
This is all what I've heard and don't have first hand knowledge of it so take it as that.
