      WHYTRY updates

Most of you know what I have been up to but I have not had enough pics to post an update, and I wanted to get it further along.

      As of today 6/1:

F1R procharger installed, running good, still have some tuning to do, but it is off to paint so I can make my schedule with the painter.... So once completed I have a trusted friend of the site coming by to lend a hand on the tuning..... Thanks again Jody...

The paint is in process so don't mind the multiple colors....
Motor is a 468 BBC, CSU prepped 850 carb. Everything else has been posted before, but will update if needed..

Interior is from a couple sources.. Seats are out of a 1997 Acura Integra GSR, leather, center console is out of a LS430 Lexus painted to match exterior, all Auto Meter gauges....

I already love it and I have not had it tuned yet. So I can't wait until then!!! Will definitely keep everybody updated as progress is made.

I am also getting some 1 off LED tailights designed by by dad too. I can't wait.

THanks everybody, well today it left my house to go off to paint....

Hopefully in about a month it will be done and on the road!!!

I was looking for something different on the front end/grill I have been looking for maybe a billet grill, anybody know where I can get one? Or another idea is to paint the grill molding and headlight trim rings body color, but I am open to suggestions!!!

Looking Good! What are color are you planning to do?
These guys make billet aluminum grills for Camaros. I think someone on this board is using one. They don't have any pictures for a camaro, but they do for other cars, so it gives you an idea. http://www.carriageworksinc.com/Bill...s_for_Cars.jsp

      Good luck and great job,
      Kyle

For color I am using Lexus IS300 Red, with a white base coat.... I was going to put 2005 Subaru gunmetal grey stripes on it but I figured I can always add them later.

I should have some updated progress pics soon as well. I like the whole open the hood and see the jewel idea so I decided to paint the engine bay flat black, plus its really easy to touch up when needed.

The seats went in pretty easy, I did some minor fab work to get them to fit in the stock location for the Camaro seats but otherwise pretty good fit. I used the Camaro tracks too, which now looking back I should have used the Integra ones, more adjustment....

thanks for the info on the grill Kyle, I will check it out.

So its been 3 months and I am still waiting for the car, talked to the painter last night probably will be done at the end of the month... Which is kind of irrating since he told me HAN would be an easy deadline for him.. But from what I read I am not the only one with Paint/painter problems...... Oh a good note, I got a Classic Auto Air setup and will be going over to the shop to get the install going since the fenders are off..... Updated pics to follow...

      Brad,

They don't call it body shop jail for nothing! One thing I noticed is it doesn't appear that you're using any kind of surge valve in the inlet; was this a just a mock up pic, or are you not planning on using one?

Brad, how was Classic Auto Air to work with? Good delivery times? Did they ship a templete with the evap? I would like to mock up my A/C and get the holes drilled, but am not ready to dump the money on the unit yet.

      Jody,

That was mock up and initial test runs to make sure it works... I have been thinking about a surge valve, but was not sure at the time, with only running 8 psi currently, from what I can tell it was not needed. Now if I get about 12-15 psi it will be needed, right? Or do you think I should just get one anyways?

VT - I feel your pain..... Do you have an end in sight? Thanks, I have been staring at the pics in this post for awhile now so I remember what it looked like......

Brent - No template with the evap, but I got templates for the control panel and ac box. I am running their universal cooler, they told me it was a smaller more compact unit and since I am not using the factory controls it really did not matter. I did get the rest of the parts from the Camaro perfect fit kit though, they were really helpful with me and made my kit to order, and priced it accordingly... So far I am very pleased with them. I actually had a question about the install and they walked me through it and sent me some additional notes on mounting, running lines, etc..... I ordered it just before Labor Day and got it Monday, right about 2 weeks from order to delivery....

Going over to the shop today to start on the A/C install, I hope... I will snap some more pics of where we are at, hopefully the pics are different that the ones I already posted... Sometimes I feel like its never going to get out of the body shop.... It does feel like jail, and the weather was really nice up here over the weekend....... I now once I get the car done and can drive it, the rain will come....

All the emblem holes welded up and the side marker lights welded up too, I also got rid of the antenna and the windshield wipers.... Just small subtle changes, nothing to major.... Was thinking of shaving door handles but decided against it, had bad luck with them in the past.... Don't ask...
