Can anyone tell me why it is necesary for the master on a 67 camaro to set at such an angle,or can it be leveled paralell to the fire wall?

Yes I can tell you why
with manual brakes its level and the reason is so it lines up with the hole on the brake peddal arm on the top hole
The power booster is angled to use the lower hole.

the reason is if you angle your manual mster cyl w some fabbed brakket and use the lower hole your leverage form the brake peddal will make it near impossible to stop the car.

and if you put the booster on it and leveld it and used the upper hole you would touch the pedal with a feather and go through the window
      Its all about leverage

hope this answers you Q =) Ken F
