Wheel Fitment for A body Olds.

i'm looking into to 17" torque thrusts for my 68 Olds Cutlass. i wanting to fit the largest tire and rim possible out back without mini-tubbing. would it be possible to get a 315/40/17 on a 10" rim to fit easily?

      any offset suggestions?

      Thanks.

I am not aware of that size tire. Maybe you mean a 315/35-17?

A-bodies are not constructed like Nova's or Camaros. You can't just mini-tub it. Way more to it than that.

Didn't realize that man but makes since they are not a unibody car....... Thanks for the lesson. In your experience with A-body's what is the biggest wheel tire combo w/out wheelwell modification and stock width rear?

With careful wheel selection and assuming that the body sits evenly on the frame (many times it does not) you can fit the 315/35/17. I run 295/45/18s on my GTO on a 10.5 wide wheel with 6 inches of backspacing.

ok guys, thanks again for the help... the wheel size im looking at is a 305/45/18 Nitto drag radial, on a 9.5" rim... im assuming the dimensions will still work due to being narrower than the 315/17's. i dont believe i will have any height problems. If anyone knows different please let me know.
